I'm so involved that the first thing after waking up I did was to check the livestream/live tracker.....only to see that Courtney hasn't been moving and has been at aid station for way too long...wth is going on! Fast forward - she dropped later, still don't know why. Super sad and disappointed, CCDN is over, everything's ruined! :D And so for my run...:)) progression over 4K, again ππ. I felt pretty good, was thinking 4K is kinda short soooooo I decided to do 5K instead π€·♀️. And maybe few more mins added after too. Coach wasn't available today to see my bullπ© so I'm safe π .
Woke up feeling like crap. But at least it wasn't a headache this time. It was still bit uncomfortable but the run was actually very enjoyable and it felt so good. I again, went a little bit longer than I should to make it another 10K. What a day.
Today is MY day and I can do what ever the F I want :D. So I went for a little run to see the sunrise. Which was not in my plan and that's why the run felt SO good haha. The sunrise was absolutely worth it! I stood there for 10mins to get some hyperlapse video :D. Also worth it. After that I planned to do Prairie Mountain with the Piglet. I hoped she would go :D. And luckily for me, she did. I wasn't sure if we would go all the way to the top because it was really windy and also I didn't want to push Lucy too far. But we had a little photo break before the last summit push and she seemed like she can make it so we went for it. The wind was really cold tho so just took few pics and went right back down. It was awesome. We stopped for ice cream too. And then I went for a little jog walk with Tonia before we ate some delicious pizza and watch SuperNova The 100M dog. If you missed it, make sure to watch it on Youtube on May 15th!
Friday is a rest day. I was actually planning to do the strength I missed on Wednesday but it just didn't work out.
First of all, I started late. I went to bed late and then I couldn't get out of the bed, I snoozed my alarm by like 30mins. I had nothing prepared so that took some time too. Anyways. I wasn't very excited for this for some reason, was feeling kinda off. Coach wanted me to do EEOR but I wasn't ready for that scramble today, there are few sections that freaks me out a little and I just didn't want to do that. So I changed the plan for Lady Mac and Ha Ling/Miner's after. Did I mention I was late? So much so that the parking lot was already full when I arrived. Luckily I still got a spot just up the road. I could feel a mild headache creepin in. Was thinking about taking a Tylenol but I didn't. Like I said, I wasn't feeling it today. But went for it anyways. Started running and everything seemed okay. Until the very first uphill. My calves were on fire again. Like it hurt so bad. I kept telling myself if I just keep going it will eventually stop. But it was taking forever! Only good thing about that was the pain was much greater than my headache so that was cool π π€£. I tried to take it easy but I was just dying and moving slowly anyways. I also noticed I was sweating like crazy, bit more than usual, it was warm but I didn't think it was that warm. Anyways, just a note to myself. I thought I'd go just to the bench/helipad but I saw few other runners in front of me and thought I could probably go bit further, to the next bump and then turn around..... well somehow I ended up at the false summit anyway π€£. Surprise! π I've never been to the true summit and probably never will and that's okay. Just standing close to the knife edge made me sick π¬π. So down I went. There was this huge group of kids going up/down and I got stuck by one part of them. Maybe it wasn't the worst in the end cause I didn't thrashed my quads I think. When I was moving, my head was okay, as soon as I stopped, the headache intensified. I ate a half of a Nutella sandwich and banana on my way to Ha Ling. Parking lot was full. Luckily there is a small turn/parking just down the road so I parked there. At first I felt good, okay. But few more mins in and I felt lightheaded, kinda nauseous and just awful. I walked so slow it was ridiculous. I was hoping it would get worse and I could just turn around and go back. But it never did. So I kept walking. Until I reached the summit in the slowest attempt ever...what a shame...I looked at Miner's but was like No thank you. I was barely running on the way down. There were few moments if I went bit faster, my head would start pounding. So I walked/jogged. Oh well, nice hike π€£. Not very happy with this one but it is what it is.
Recovery shuffle on Sunday got pushed to the late afternoon again. We had nice walk with the Piglet in the morning tho. I didn't go hiking with her cause we did Prairie on Thursday and I needed to do few things around the house, like cleaning π . So I did that and then went for a run at 5:30pm π. It was okay, it was really warm tho and my quads are very sore, but running was fine, walking down the stairs not π . Or doing mountain legs (now at 35/30 reps) right after the runπ. Survived another week. Time to think seriously about Relentless24...
56.7K running + 7.8K hike / 13:16 time on feet
